Hello, very interesting post, I used All in One SEO and Akismet in my blog. I found an easier way to integrate gallery into my WordPress. Named GRAND Flash Album Gallery – multi category flash skin based photo gallery with powerful admin. I used it in my blog. There are so many different settings. You can adjust the color scheme for your blog as you wish. There are many different skins. You can present your photo gallery in a wonderful way, there is a full-screen mode. This is a very cool plugin.

After coming back to WordPress after about 4 years, this has really helped me figure out which plugins to include. I especially like the Comment Relish plugin. Thanks for the heads up!

  2. Glad to see I’m not the only “WP Plugin Junkee” out there. Great list, I’m going to try a couple of these on my blog.

  3. Hey great list of WordPress plugins.

I’m currently using many of the ones that you listed. I presently use: pagenavi, db manager, WP related posts, WP stats, total cache (better than super cache IMO), subscribe to comments, sexy bookmarks, Seo slugs, Seo smart links, seo friendly images, Google XML sitemap, Google Analytics, Contact form 7, broken link checker, redirection, and all-in-one SEO packs.

All of the above have worked well. Redirection is a very useful plugin, but the documentation is terrible.

One problem that I have is with XHTML errors from plugins especially with follow me and sexy bookmarks.

thanks for the list, I will try a few that you’ve suggested.

  4. Oh, I am still looking for a good spam plugin. Askimet flags all of my spam, but it’s tedious to have to delete the flagged spam constantly.

I’ve tried bad behavior and all of the spam stopped which was great. However, it seems to block several search engine bots too and I couldn’t figure out how to correct this.

I tried another similar program to bad behavior that blocks spam bots from visiting the site… I can’t remember the name, but it slowed my site to a complete crawl. I’ll try Defensio and see how that works.

    cheers.

  5. This list will do well for any site under construction. However it’s a bit extensive and will take forever to install! Any suggestion of integrated plugin script that has the best of the above? Mucho appreciation for the list again. 😉

  6. What is the better between All in One SEO Pack or Platinum SEO Pack

  7. Listed all the good plugins at one site, it really helps a newcomer to use this plugins.
    Good work

    The site is http://gadgetcrave.com/android-gets-its-own-collectible-figurines/5355/

  11. very much in depth information, i really appreciate ur efforts, thanks a lot.

  12. This is definitely one of the most comprehensive lists that I’ve seen on the web as of yet. Usually bloggers point out how All in One SEO Pack is the grandaddy of SEO plugins and then name a few others, but you go as far to categorize the best plugins by Comments, Twitter, Spam-fighting, Admin and so forth.

That’s definitely the mark of a blogger who knows his plugins.

I’ll be referencing this post on my main blog.

  13. the google translator si a nice free tool that you can get online’,;

  14. provides many ideas to improve the performance wordpress blog. Thank you for good job

  19. wow this list is so organized. Bookmarked for later exploration of those plugins to see which are best for my needs.

  20. This is by far the most extensive list of SEO Plugins that I have yet to come across. You even went as far as to categorize them based on application while most bloggers just give it a quick mention and move on. That’s definitely the mark of a blogger who knows his plugins.

I’ll be referencing this post on my main blog.

  21. Excellent choices of plugins, this helps a lot to us bloggers… But I hope this plugins shows little bugs or no bugs at all.. I’ve use one plugins for how many months but that plugins slows my site and just recently it appears to be a redirecting to an error page. I just delete the plugin and details in .htaccess and walaaa.. my site is back and very loads so fast…

  22. This is great information. Thanks fitting for sharing.

  23. An attention-grabbing discussion is price comment. I feel that you should write more on this matter, it might not be a taboo subject but typically persons are not enough to speak on such topics. To the next. Cheers

After looking through your list (fantastic list by the way), I just want to add one more to the list – EzAffiliateCash Ads Plugin for WordPress. I believe it used to be a paid plugin but the owner has made it free recently; it’s an all-in-one advertisement plugin that allows you to test different popular advertising methods on wordpress powered websites. I personally have tested it on my blogs (WP 3.x) and it works great. If you want to find out more about it you can visit http://www.adsplugin.com

I don’t think you can find it on the official wordpress.org/extend/plugins list but it’s indeed a gem!

    Just my 2 cents!

  26. I’ve just come across this site purely by accident whilst searching for something else. Interestingly enough there are some great plugins on here although the list does look a little out of date now based on the version of WordPress that we are currently on. However, for my site some of these will be worth a go. Thanks for putting the list together!

  27. I’m impressed, I must say. Seldom do I come across a blog that’s both equally educative
and amusing, and let me tell you, you have hit the nail on the head.
The problem is an issue that too few people are speaking intelligently
about. Now i’m very happy I came across this in my hunt for something relating to this.
